The
word Mbango comes from the Kiswahili (the most
spoken language of East Africa) word for Warthog
and the word safari for journey and for most people,
a safari to Africa is, indeed, the journey of a
lifetime.

Mbango
Safaris was started by Peter and Caroline after
years of working in some of the wildest
and remotest parts of African wilderness as safari
guides, research field assistants and conservationists. During this
time and throughout all the time we have had the
great fortune to indulge our passion for nature
– birds, wildlife and natural history.
|
We operate a selection
of personalised,
professionally organised, expert-escorted wildlife holidays
and tours, including bird watching and photography tours to some of the spectacular regions of East Africa
and beyond.
We are
not in the safari business for the sake of business,
this is our way to continue living in the East Africa
wilderness, the land we love and our preffered way of
life.
We work hard to keep the vital essence of safaris
alive and evoke the unchanging atmosphere of Africa
of the heyday of early explorers, our
simple objective being to share, experience and enjoy the birdlife,
wildlife,
and natural
wonders
of East Africa with
our clients which we have protected and still helping
to protect for future generations
as we are environmental
responsible safari
company.
As such we have chosen to be as honest and upfront about
what sets
us apart from the rest, what we offer and how we operate in order to outline our personal and direct
approach and allow you the chance to make the decision.
We are here to help with any queries you may
have, and whilst we may be away guiding tours, there are always
staff members, if you want to grill us about our tours or about a
specific tour you are hoping to join.
Whilst we endeavour to keep our website up-to-date, do let
us know if you have any comments or suggestions about the website, or for any
reason, if you have difficulty downloading any of our tour itineraries, brochures
e.t.c please
email us.
We
have been organising
and guiding tours all from the comfort of custom built 4x4 safari
vehicles. Thus, whatever your age, ability and
aspirations, we hope that we can offer a holiday for you to enjoy. We hope
you will join us to share excitiment, experience and
enjoy East Africa and Horn of Africa in our
tours, safaris and holidays.
Caroline,
Peter & Mbango Safaris team.
"From my perspective, this was a truly superb holiday - combining the
beauty of the three East Africa countries natural landscapes, an introduction to the people, and
the highlight of the apes, both chimpanzees and gorillas. A superb holiday with
superb company and memories that will last a lifetime - particularly the eye to eye contact with the
gentle Mountain Gorilla." M.C, Manchester.
"My holiday with Mbango Safaris was excellent, I cannot praise the expert
organization enough. The guides were excellent in 'fighting our corner' and trying to do their
very best to ease
our paths as we were doing the Gorilla Expedition. The two driver guides James and David in Rwanda were also excellent, very
kind and thoughtful." Kathy Ruegg, Switzerland.
"This was
our 5th successive trip we have taken with Mbango
Safaris and each
has been excellent in its own way. The holiday fulfilled our wish-list for
birds. We really had an exceptional
holiday and enjoyed wonderful scenery and bird life - I am sure we will be using
Mbango Safaris again in the near future!" Debbie Carson, Los Angeles.
