Introduction.

This safari offers you the ultimate Tanzania and Kenya birding. Your safari begins in Tanzania from Tarangire to Ngorongoro Crater and then to the rolling plains of the Serengeti where the Wildebeeest migration starts and ends; a trip back to the origins of man as you explore the Olduvai Gorge , the cradle of mankind.

Then across into Kenya - unrivalled for its diverse eco-systems and tribal cultures. You explore the Amboseli plains at the foot of Kilimanjaro before a spectacular drive across the Great Rift Valley floor and end up to the arid, harsh and itensely beautiful Northern Kenya with its prilific birdlife and stunning scenery.

Day 1: Fly to Tanzania. Overnight at Serena Mountain Village, Arusha.

Days 2 & 3: Drive to Tarangire National Park. Savannah, forest and Baobab trees. 0vernight at Maramboi Tented Camp.

Days 4 & 5: Drive to Olduvai Gorge: the cradle of mankind. Explore the Serengeti plains, the ultimate birdlife and wildlife spectacle. Tune in the bush and sleep under the canvas in the heart of Africa's wilderness. Three overnights at Serengeti Serena Lodge.

Days 6 & 7: Drive to Ngorongoro Crater: the crater floor shelters Africa's highest concentration of birds and large mammals. Two overnights at Ngorongoro Serena Lodge.

Days 8 & 9: Drive across the border to Kenya's Amboseli National Park: elephants, abundant birdlife,and plains game and spectacular views of Kilimanjaro: the world's highest free standing mountain. Two overnights at Amboseli Serena Lodge.

Days 10 & 11: Drive to Nairobi, Kenya's capital city. After lunch at the famous Carnivore Restaurant drive to the Great Rift Valley past Lake Naivasha, Elementaita and onto Lake Nakuru National Park. Explore Lake Nakuru National Park, Bird and Rhino Sanctuary. Two overnights at Sarova Lion Hill.

Day 12: Drive up the slopes of Mount Kenya: second highest mountain in Africa. One overnight at Mountain Lodge.

Days 13 & 14: Drive further North to Samburu Game Reserve with spectacular landscape, many arid and rare, endemic birds and wildlife - Somali Ostrich, Grevys Zebra, Reticulated Giraffe, Beisa Oryx, Gerenuk. Two overnights at Samburu Serena Lodge.

Day 15: Drive to Nairobi. Day room at Nairobi Serena Depart for JKIA airport.

Days 15 - 17: Fly to Maasai Mara: Africa's foremost wilderness extravanganza. Just the trip from the airstrip is a game in itself. Base is a luxurious lodge perched on a hill, overlooking the ever teeemed wildlife plains of Maasai Mara. Three overnights at Mara Serena Lodge.

Day 18: Fly to Nairobi in the afternoon. Drive to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. Depart.
