Itinerary:

This is a 14 days luxury safari traversing through Kenya's and Tanzania's best game parks, with a chance to see East Africa's rich wildlife - including the big cats and cultural heritage as your safari takes you to Amboseli, Ngorongoro, Serengeti, Lake Manyara, Lake Nakuru and Maasai Mara.

Remember that between Kenya and Tanzania you have the most diverse and abundant wildlife in the whole of Africa. The spectacular scenery and varied ecosystems are a bonus worth mentioning.

Day 1: Flight to Nairobi

On arrival at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport you will be met by Mbango Safaris representative and transferred to Fairview Hotel.

Day 2Nairobi – Maasai Mara

After breakfast drive through the floor of the Rift Valley via the Maasai town of Narok to arrive at Kenya’s most populous game reserve, the Maasai Mara Game Reserve in time for lunch at Sarova Camp. Later proceed with game enroute to Mara Serena Lodge. Maasai mara has migrants, well over 450 species of birds and animals have been recorded here. Although July, August and September are the months when the Mara plains are filled with migrating wildebeest and zebra, there is also resident wildlife all year round. The famous Maasai tribesmen live within the dispersal area of the game reserve.

Day 3: Masai Mara National Reserve.

Explore the Mara with unlimited game viewing drives.  Lunch, Dinner and overnight at Mara Serena Lodge.

Days 4 & 5: Lake Nakuru National Park.

After breakfast leave for Lake Nakuru National Park with packed lunches. Arrive in Lake Nakuru National park in the late afternoon. The next day there is a chance to see a sizable number of the endangered rhinocerous and the Rothschild giraffe. Waterbucks as well as and the predators such as the lion and leopard are common at the park. Also to be seen is a myriad different variety of birdlife in and around the lake including the Lesser and Greater Flamingos.

Day 6: Nairobi – Amboseli National Park.

After breakfast, drive to Nairobi for lunch at the famous Carnivore restaurant and then proceed south to Amboseli National Park arriving late in the afternoon. Game drive enroute to the lodge.

Day 7: Amboseli National Park.

Early morning game drive. Lunch at the Lodge followed by afternoon game drive. The snows of the mountain forms a majestic backdrop to one of Kenya's most popular spectacular displays of wildlife - lion, elephant, leopard, rhino, cheetah, buffalo and host of plains game, creating Kenya's most sought after photographer's paradise. After lunch proceed for an afternoon game drive in the Park.

Dinner and overnight at Amboseli Serena Lodge.

Day 8: Amboseli National Park - Arusha.

Breakfast will be served at Amboseli Serena lodge, then driving through Namanga border into Tanzania and drive to Arusha town to arrive in time for lunch. Afternoon to be spent at leisure.

Dinner and overnight at Serena Mountain Village.

Days 9 & 10: Ngorongoro Crater.

Breakfast and then depart for Ngorongoro Crater. Lunch followed by a nature walk at the crater rim. The following morning (Day 10) after breakfast descend into the crater with picnic lunches for a full day game drive. Ngorongoro Crater, is one the largest intact caldera in the world and one of the most spectacular sights in the whole of Africa. The Olduvai Gorge in the neighborhood is the site where some off Africa's oldest hominid fossils were found. The Crater has one of the densest predators populations in Africa. Elephant, lion, zebra, wildebeest and a host of other resident animals are to be found here.

Days 11 & 12: Serengeti National Park.

After breakfast drive to Serengati National Park. Unlimited game drives for the next two days at the expanse Serengeti plains. Serengeti is one of the Africa's largest and popular national park. The park has an incredible population of cats and plains game. Serengeti is most famous for the wildebeests migration, often described as one of the most impressive spectacle in the natural world. Arrive at Serengeti Serena in time for lunch. Afternoon proceed for a game drive.

Day 13: Lake Mayara National Park.

Making an early start, we will drive, via the Olduvai Gorge, back towards the crater highlands. The Olduvai Gorge “Cradle of Mankind” was  brought to the attention of the world by Dr. Leakey. Here he discovered the 2-million-year-old remains of the “nutcracker man”, as  well as those of prehistoric elephants and giant ostriches. We will have packed lunch and then retrace our steps through the crater highlands to Lake Manyara Serena Lodge. The hotel occupies a magnificent setting, perched a thousand feet above the park on the very edge of the Rift Valley wall, its views are stunning.

Day 14:
After breakfast you will drive back to Arusha where we are going to have our lunch and then drive back to Nairobi. On our eventful arrival back at Nairobi, we will make our way to the airport for your outbound flight back home.

 

Weather.
During our tour we can expect most days to be dry and fairly sunny, temperatures ranging from 20- 30oC, depending on altitude. Overcast weather, particularly in the afternoons, may not be infrequent, but rain is unlikely except on high ground such as Ngorongoro Crater, where afternoon precipitation is a possibility. Here the weather can be chilly between sunset and sunrise.

Grading.
This tour is ideal for individauls, couples or family and it has mind blowing views, wildlife, big cats (lions, leopards, cheetahs) and privacy set amidst a vast expanse of wilderness camps and lodges.

Entry requirements.
Certain nationals do require visas in order to enter Kenya and Tanzania although there are no visa requirements for citizens of the Republic of Ireland and Commonwealth countries. Citizens of the following countries are obliged to carry visas: Antigua, Bermuda, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Guyana, India, South Africa (for visitors staying more than 30 days), Sri Lanka, San Marino, Turkey, United Kingdom and Uruguay. You can complete and print a Visa application form online from www.kenya.visahq.com Visas can be readily obtained at JKIA and Moi International airports on arrival as well as from Kenya High Commissions abroad prior to departure. There is a fee to process a visa, usually between US $ 20 - US $ 100 depending on the category required.

All meals and accommodation are included throughout this holiday as indicated in the itinerary with the exception of dinner on the first and last day.
