Nairobi city tour.

A tour of the city center with a view at the top of Kenyatta International Conference Center, Shopping areas, Parliament Buildings, Railway museum, National Museum and Snake Park

Nairobi National Park.

Located between two ecological zones (dry forest to the north and the grasslands to the south). The Park, only 7km off the cosmopolitan city of Nairobi has one of the greatest avifauna with a record of 517 species in an area of 117kms. It offers a good birding introduction to the bird families to expect during the safari. With a good assemblage of the birds of prey, pipits, cisticolas, including waterbirds. Specialties includes the Long tailed Fiscal, Red throated Tit, Jackson's Widowbird, Bateleur, Ostrich, White bellied Bustard, Red billed Oxpecker, Rufous naped Lark, Yellow throated Longclaw, Lilac breasted Roller......

The park is full of big game such as the Buffalo, Burchell's Zebra, Hippo, Giraffe, Coke's Hartebeest, Vervet and the Syke's Monkey and both the Black and the White Rhinocerous.

Tour the Karen Blixen Museum situated at the foot of the Ngong Hills. The Museum was originally the home of Karen Blixen of the Out of Africa fame. The park has a small herd of Rothschild's Giraffe which are endangered species and you will get a chance to feed them.

Day trip to Ol pejeta Conservancy & Chimpanzee Sanctuary.

Depart Nairobi early in the morning and drive to Ol pejeta Conservancy with great views of Mt. Kenya along the way. Lying on the equator and covering 360 sq kms Olpejeta conservancy is home to the big five and has the highest black rhino population in Kenya with over 70 black rhinos and is the only place in Kenya where the highly endangered and remarkably intelligent Chimpanzees can be seen. Arrive Ol pejeta Conservancy for morning game viewing drive. Proceed for lunch at Sweetwaters Tented Camp. Gatamaiyu Forest located 50 Kilometres North West of Nairobi stretches through the Kieni forest (part of the central highland forest) and boost many highland montane forest species including Chestnut throated Apalis, Grey Apalis, Black collared Apalis, Black throated Apalis, Montane Oriole, Narina & Bar-tailed Trogon, Black fronted Bushshrike, Woodland Wabler, Mustached Green Tinkerbird, Scarce Swift, White browed Crombec, Abbott's Starling.....

Manguo Ponds makes an excellent birding spot en-route to the forest. It boost a wide variety of waterfowls such as the Yellow billed Ducks, Little Grebe, Red-billed Teal, Red knobbed Coot, Maccoa Ducks, Grey Heron, Black Headed Heron, African Spoonbill, White faced Whistling Duck, Hottentot Teal, Greenshanks, Sandpipers......

Day trip to Lake Naivasha & Hells Gate National Park.

Depart Nairobi in the morning and drive to the floor of the Rift Valley stopping to marvel at the views of the escarpment along the way. Afterwards visit Lake Naivasha for a boat ride or birding at the lake shores. Proceed for lunch at Elsamere Conservation Area followed by a video about the works of Joy and George Adamson and drive back to Nairobi arriving early evening.
