Detailed Itinerary.

Day 1:
Upon arrival in Nairobi we are going to meet you at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and transfer you to Fairview Hotel at the outskirts of the city.
Overnight at Fairview hotel, Nairobi. Bed and breakfast.

Days 2 & 3:
After an early breakfast we depart for Amboseli National Park stopping on the way to stretch and shop if need be arriving at Oltukai Lodge in time for lunch.

Early afternoon will be spent at leisure till mid afternoon when we do our first game drive in search of the big cats as well as the herbivores to be back at the lodge just before it gets dark.

Lunch, dinner and overnight at Oltukai Lodge.

Day 4:
Early breakfast and then leave Amboseli for Aberdares National Park stopping at Nairobi for lunch. After lunch we drive through the Kikuyu land arriving at our hotel early afternoon. The rest of the afternoon will be spent at leisure.

Dinner and overnight at Aberdares Country Club.

Days 5 & 6:
After breakfast we leave for Samburu National Reserve which is known for its rare northern hemisphere wildlife such as Grevy’s zebra and Reticulated Giraffe and birds species. Wildlife watching on the way to the lodge and stopping when we spot anything special arriving at our lodge in time for lunch.

Afternoon game viewing drive till late in the afternoon to be back to the lodge just before the night falls, dinner and overnight at Samburu Intrepid.

We are going to spend the days birding leaving the lodge with our packed breakfast to be back for lunch and then venturing out or having an early breakfast and then leaving early again with our packed lunches to be back to the lodge just before it gets dark.


Days 7 & 8:

After breakfast we leave for the world renowned Lake Nakuru National Park arriving there in time for lunch. Lake Nakuru National Park is world famous for its population of flamingo’s and both Black and White Rhinoceros where we are going to spend the next two days looking for the different wildlife species found here including the endangered Black Rhinoceros and the elusive Leopard.

We are going to spend the days watching wildlife leaving the lodge with our packed breakfast to be back for lunch and then venturing out or having an early breakfast and then leaving early again with our packed lunches to be back to the lodge just before it gets dark.

Days 9 & 10:
Early rise followed by and early breakfast and then we leave for the world famous Masai Mara National Reserve arriving there in time for a late lunch. Spend the afternoon game watching at the plains of the world famous Masai Mara. All meals at Ilkeliani Tented Camp which is located at the heart of the Masai Mara where there are good chances of seeing the big cats and the annual gnus and zebras migration.

Day 11:
Early morning game drives to be back at the camp for breakfast. After breakfast depart for Nairobi arriving Nairobi early afternoon. Check in your hotel to freshen up before departing to the famous Carnivore restaurant for dinner and then leave for the airport to catch your outbound flight home.
 

Grading.
This is a camp and lodge safari, and therefore suitable for anyone of any age, without any great necessity for extreme fitness. In all the parks we visit exploration is by vehicle only, though you will be allowed to walk in the grounds of each lodge and at various picnic spots.

Weather.
For much of this August tour dry and sunny weather may be expected, with daytime temperatures between 20-30°C, depending on the altitude. Cloud is likely in the afternoons, but does not usually bring rain at this season, although do not rule it out!

Food and accomondation included in the price.
All accommodation and meals are included except for dinner on arrival in Nairobi and lunch on the last day back to Nairobi.  

Entry requirements.
A visa is required for Kenya and we will send you application forms and details. Various vaccinations and malaria prophylactics are recommended. Full details will be sent to you on booking, but we recommend that you visit your foreign office to discuss your travel plans as soon as possible.
